Jaxson had a yucky eye last week but I just thought it was a clogged tear duct since he gets them often and his eye wasn't pink or swollen... but Jaden got is Saturday night so I thought something might be up. I did the massage (for clogged tear ducts) all day Sunday and it didn't seem to get better so I called their doctor to get them in. We were suppose to go Monday but a different 3 hour doctors appointment made us miss it. Tuesday when they were seen the doctor said she wasn't sure if it was an infection or not. Neither of the boys had pink in their eyes and neither of them seemed in pain. But in the middle of the night when they would wake up to eat their eyes would be crusted together (so sad) which made her think it wasn't just a clogged tear duct. She ordered some ointment and said to continue to do the massage as well and so far so good!! Jaxsons eye is still a little watery during the day but neither of their eyes have crusted over since seeing the doctor!!! It gave me a little glimpse of the future... if one of them is sick they both will be sick!! At least the first time was just something minor. : ]
Monday we had an appointment with a surgeon, Dr.Curnow, about Jaxson's hernia. When he was about 1 month old he pushed it out and has never resolved on it's own. Dr.Curnow is a very busy guy and we waited 2 1/2 hours before even seeing him... We were a little frustrated seeing how it's a little hard to keep twin babies entertained that long, but what can we do? He was a very nice guy and surgery is planned for November 10th to repair it. He said he could do it now but with Jaxson being so little still there is more risks and chances of not as good of a repair. And he would most likely have a longer hospital recovery where as if we wait if could most likely just be an outpatient. He would like to see him around 12lbs so hopefully he gets there by November. Jaxson is still VERY grunty at times and gets his hernia scary big and we worried if he gets it repaired and is still as grunty he would push it out again. Dr.Curnow informed us he has done 2,400 hernia reapirs and only 3 have come back, and he hasn't had one in the last 17 years. That made us very pleased and feel very comfortable about him caring for our little Jaxson.
Besides the doctors appointments the boys are doing great!! They have longer awake periods and are so fun during those times. They are getting the cutiest personalities and are such happy babies! Monday night they finally started sleeping good again which has made it very nice for us! I think they just went through a little growing spurt last week and decided they needed to eat ALL the time. It is good they wanted to eat but we need some sleep too. : ]
on our way to the doctors! : ]

Every Sunday I take the boys to Mimi and Papas to hang out for the day. I usually don't head home until it's time for them to go to sleep but this Sunday I left early. Jaxson was sound asleep when we left and woke up in Greenleaf screaming and was starving. We still had a 45 minute drive so I had to stop at my sisters in Nampa to feed. What was intended to be just a feeding stop turned into a 3 hour stay. My nieces sure didn't mind it though. : ] They are so great with the boys and just adore them. Jaxson got his nighttime bottle and was really tired and fussy.... I handed him to Gabby and he fell right asleep, it was the sweetest thing in the world.
